What’s been happening:

Since graduating I have owned and operated a chain of retail businesses; was Lead Proofreader for a corporate printing company; worked for the Sierra Club in their lobbying office; Project Manager for an environmental non-profit; Editor of two national newsletters; and am now a Substitute Teacher and working on a Masters in Education. In 2005 I was elected to the position of National Chair of the Sierra Club Inner City Outings (ICO) program. Since 1996, I have been an outings leader for Harrisburg ICO and served as Chair for 6 years. This all-volunteer, community service program helps city youth become acquainted with nature. For more than thirty-five years, volunteer leaders across the USA in 50 ICO groups have worked to allow all children to experience the wonders of the natural world through camping, hiking, biking, paddling and wildlife watching. For the last thirteen years this wonderful experience has channeled my life into a path that is leading me back to a teaching degree. You can never know what path your life will take, or what will become the one thing that changes you forever-until the years go by and you learn what is truly important. And it isn't your job title, the amount of money you make, how "brillant" your kids are, or the screen size of the HDTV you own. It's about what you GIVE BACK. That's what is important.
